Thank you Frankfurt, Germany! Gracias Frankfurt, Germany!

Dear friends, it is with my deepest gratitude that I write this entry today, wishing every person who believes in our work and wants to help us continue lots of health, love, and friendship. On Thursday, November 28th, we had our Frankfurt Fundraising event, and I am so proud and grateful to share with you that the event was a success, but more importantly, the event helped us create a beautiful and palpable bridge between people who brought open hearts and minds to meet us and to get to know our work in Chincha.

Thank you Jeannine, PWC, and other friends in Germany for making the Frankfurt LCDM fundraising event possible. Thanks to each of you we were able to raise $1,800. We still have $4,100 to raise to make our January - March 2014 work in Chincha possible, but thanks to you we are a lot closer to meeting our goal. 

It was amazing to be able to connect with people so far away, but who generously decided to spend part of their evening learning about our project and helping us raise funds so that we can go back to Chincha and to our work. I was so grateful to see the faces and hear the laughter and voices of all those who attended the event in Frankfurt, Germany. This wonderful experience moved me deeply, and I hope to continue having more of them through my circles of support around Peru and the world. I want to especially thank our beautiful friend Jeannine Friedrich for working so hard to make the event possible. Jeannine was the engine behind the event, and I am sure everyone was motivated to attend and help thanks to her enthusiasm and drive.  Jeannine, millones de gracias por todo tu trabajo y dedicacion! I would also like to thank all the generous people at Price Waterhouse Cooper's Social Responsibility, HR, Catering, and Event Services departments and Sodexo for all their help and support in making the event possible. Lastly, I would like to thank our friend Max, Alejandro Conza for providing the event's music, all of Jeannine's friends who made donations at the event and through our betterplace.org page, Marcel for helping us get sound equipment, and every person who attended the event on the 28th for making the event possible and for your generous donations. It was great to connect with you via Skype and to be able to see you and properly thank you for your help, presence, interest and support.  

Queridos Amigos, esta manana, escribo con el ser lleno hasta el tope de gratitud. Hoy, abrazo a muchos seres en mi adentro agradecida por su fe en nuestro trabajo, y por sus deseos de ayudarnos a continuar cultivando amistad, crecer y comunidad. El jueves, noviembre 28, celebramos nuestro evento recaudafondos en Frankfurt, Alemania, y con mucha emocion les cuento que el evento fue un maravilloso exito, sobre todo porque pudimos construir un puente extraordinario entre personas que asistieron esa noche con la mente, el corazon, y el ser abierto y listo para ayudarnos. Que cosa mas linda fue poder atraves de Skype ver, escuchar y conversar con todas las personas que asistieron al evento y que dieron de su tiempo y recursos generosamente. Con cada donacion hicieron que nuestros sueños para La Casa De Mayten y para todas las personas que son parte de nuestra comunidad siguan tomando forma y vida. Gracias a la ayuda de todos nuestros amigos en Alemania pudimos recaudar a traves del evento y nuestra pagina betterplace.org $1,800 y aunque nos falta recaudar $4,100 dolares aun para poder regresar a nuestro trabajo de enero a marzo 2014, ya estamos mucho mas cerca nuestra meta.

Espero poder seguir organizando eventos recaudafondos a travez de nuestros circulos de apoyo en Peru y otras partes del mundo, y seguir viviendo estas experiencias de intercambio, de encuentro, y de conversacion con seres humanos interesados en ayudarnos a seguir construyendo nuevas y diversas posibilidades en el futuro. Quiero muy especialmente y con todo mi ser agradecer Jeannine Friedrich for todo el trabajo incansable que hizo para hacer realidad este evento. Ella fue el motor que impulso este evento y le enviamos todo nuestro agradecimiento por apesar de sus muchas responsabilidades haber logrado organizar este esfuerzo para ayudarnos a retornar a nuestro trabajo en Chincha este 2014. Tambien queremos agradecer a todas las personas de Price Waterhouse Cooper's, especialmente a personas en los departamentos de responsabilidad social, recursos humanos, catering y organizacion de eventos y a Sodexo por su apoyo y por ayudar a hacer este evento una realidad. Por ultimo, quiero agradecer a nuestro amigo Max, a Alejandro Conza por traer musica al evento, a Marcel por ayudarnos a conseguir los equipos de sonido, a los amigos de Jeannine que donaron atraves de nuestra pagina betterpage.org, y a cada persona que decidio compartir parte de su noche conociendo mas nuestro trabajo y haciendo una donacion el jueves 28. Muchas gracias a todos por su ayuda y por su interes en nuestro amado trabajo.

Infinite thanks to every person who made the event in Frankfurt a reality and to those who decided to help us by making a donation. We raised $1,800 at the event YESSSSS! We still have $4,100 to go. We invite you to spend some time learning about our work through this blog, and if you can, please help us by making a donation using the paypal link on the top right hand of the front page. We are a small independent project that has survived on its own and any amount will truly help us. As you know, LCDM has always offered all of its services free of charge to the people of Chincha and other communities in Peru, and all of us who are part of the LCDM working team have always worked on a volunteer basis, never having had received any money in exchange for the work we do. Gracias infinitas a cada persona que hizo el evento en Frankfurt una realidad y a los que decidieron ayudarnos haciendo una donacion. Nosotros recaudamos $1,800 como resultado de los esfuerzos hechos por Jeannine y sus colegas y amigos en Alemania. Gracias Frankfurt!!!! Pero aun nos falta recaudar $4,100 para poder retornar a nuestro trabajo en Chincha, asi que les invitamos a conocer nuestro trabajo a traves de estas paginas y si pueden ayudarnos haciendo una donacion usando el vinculo de PAYPAL que se encuentra en la parte derecha posterior de nuestra pagina central. LCDM es un proyecto comunitario independiente que depende de sus propios esfuerzos para salir adelante y en estos momentos necesitamos mas que nunca ayuda para poder retornar a nuestro trabajo, ya que debido a falta de fondos hemos tenido que suspender nuestras actividades. LCDM ofrece todos sus servicios gratuitamente y todas las personas que trabajamos en LCDM desde agosto 2007 lo hacemos de manera 100% voluntaria y gratuita.
