Update & My 2015 Mission! !Mi Mision este 2015!

 

Dear family and friends, I have SO much to be grateful for and SO much to share with you. These past two months brought us incredible opportunities to learn new things, to meet extraordinary people, to share love and experiences in a circle gathering, and to complete interesting programs that will help make our project better.

Thanks to a scholarship I was granted by the wonderful ladies at Expressive Arts Florida Institute in Sarasota, FL, I was able to attend an intensive Expressive Arts in The World class that gave me a chance to learn a bunch of new things from a diverse group of Expressive Arts professionals--things that I plan on sharing with our kids in Peru. I also had a chance to experience and get closer to Expressive Arts Florida Institute's work and process. I feel so grateful for all the generosity they showed me and hope to continue learning from and with them in the future. I wish to thank Kathleen Horne for making my participation in their class possible, for letting me share a bit of LCDM's work, and for sharing her experiences, time and spaces with me. Ladies you inspired me, made me feel SO lucky to be there, and so grateful to know that there are such extraordinary human beings creating possibilities for love, joy, healing, connection and expression to happen. Amada madre vida, GRACIAS! Querida familia y amigos, tengo tanto que contarles y tantas razones para estar profundamente agradecida. Este pasado mes de Abril y ahora mayo han traido consigo oportunidades increibles para aprender cosas nuevas, conocer gente extraordinaria, compartir amor, sueños y experiencias, y aprovechar capacitaciones que me ayudaran a mejorar nuestro trabajo y a compartir nuevas formas de expresar todo lo que somos. Gracias a una beca que me dio el Expressive Arts Florida Institute (Instituto de Artes Expresivas de Florida) pude tomar una clase intensiva en artes expresivas y aprender de personas de todas partes del mundo que llevan trabajando las artes expresivas como proceso terapeutico. Aprendi muchisimas cosas que llevare y compartire con toda la familia LCDM. Muchas gracias a EAFI por la manera tan generosa de compartir su trabajo, tiempo, experiencias y espacio conmigo, y por darme la oportunidad de ser parte de este maravilloso curso. Gracias EAFI!

and life gyrates inside me like leaves dancing infinitely graceful towards the earth from the tree tops....y la vida gira dentro de mi con la gracia de las hojas que bailan infinitamente bellas hacia la tierra! Gracias madre por este baile!

I am also grateful to have completed Darkness to Light's Stewards of Children Training Certificate Program. This was a very informative and helpful training that aims to help end child sexual abuse. All I learned will definitely help me make our project a safer space for all the kids and adults who are part of our community. I encourage you to learn more about their work and complete the Stewards of Children training, especially if you work with or have kids! You can learn more at www.d2l.org

Tambien estoy muy agradecida de haber podido completar una capacitacion y entrenamiento con una organizacion llamada Darkness to Light que trabaja dia a dia para terminar con la pandemia del abuso sexual contra niños y niñas. El programa que complete se llama Stewards of Children (Guardianes De Los Niños) y en realidad me dejo varias herramientas con las que lograre hacer de nuestro proyecto y comunidad espacios aun mas seguros para todos los que son parte de La Casa De Mayten, en especial para nuestros niños y niñas. Recomiendo que visiten la pagina de esta organizacion y completen el entrenamiento disponible tambien en español, particularmente si ustedes trabajan con niñ@s y jovenes, o si son padres. With a heart swollen with gratitude, I want to say thank you to every person you granted me a chance to learn something life-enhancing, thank you to every person who shared herself/himself with me, thank you to my friends Evgenia, Mark, Jeannine, Rachel, and Agnieszka for making donations to the project these past few months. Your donations are ensuring LCDM's return to Chincha and Peru this 2015, thank you to my family for their love, laughter, light and support, thank you to my partner for his undying love for me and for making all the dreams we dream at LCDM his own dreams, thank you to every moment of love and difficulty I experience, thank you to all the changes that have come, are coming, and will come, thank you to the immensity living in my hope, in my life, in my path, in the visions I continue to see inside, thank you to mother life for all that is possible in all that is, in all we are, thank you to the music playing nonstop in my heart, thank you to the determination living inside me fueling my steps and decisions, thank you to every heart everywhere beating in every life right now. Con el corazon hinchado de gracias quiero agradecer a todas las personas que me dieron la oportunidad estas ultimas semanas de aprender cosas nuevas que agrandaron mi vida y ayudaran a enriquecer el amado trabajo nuestro! Quiero agradecer tambien a todos los amigos que compartieron sus almas y mundos conmigo, gracias a mis amigos Evgenia, Mark, Jeannine, Rachel y Agnieszka por sus donaciones que estan ayudando a que nuestro trabajo en Chincha y Peru continue este 2015, gracias tambien a mi AMADA familia por su amor constante, por su risa, por su fe en mi, por la luz que traen a mi vida, y por su compañia en cada paso dado!
